I've invented a new clock.

Time is measured till sunrise.

This clock of expectation looks forward

to the metaphor of each day's birth.

It does not count against the past,

Or lament the useless notation of moments now lost.

Like a child's indifference to consequence

there is no late,

only the optimism of an ever shorter wait.

Me and my clock tell time by how much better it's gonna be.
